Did Jesus experience emotions? Consider Luke 22:44: “And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” I would say that was a pretty emotional experience.
Scripture teaches us that our God is a God who feels emotions. The Bible uses emotional terms to describe the feelings of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. But in this post, I want to focus only on Jesus. If you’re going to manage your emotions like Jesus, if you want to feel like Jesus, here are five ways to go about that.
1. Remember you have emotions because God does.
2. Remember, emotions serve as data, not directives (Prov. 16:32.)
3. We have a gap between emotion and action; in that gap, we choose (Prov. 19:2.)
4. Meditate on God’s Word every day (Psalm 1:2)
5. Get your life cues from God’s Word (II Tim. 3:16-17)
Experience your emotions like Jesus.
